The Lucky Bayberry Candle

My mom used to burn a Bayberry candle on Christmas Eve. It was supposed to bring you good luck if it burned all night. One year my grandfather put it out when he came home late and my mother was very upset. That coming year was pretty much like every other year. So much for Bayberry Candles being good luck. Even so, it was a good tradition and it gave me something to write about 70 years later.
